The Toyota Matrix debuted in 2003 as a slightly sportier version of the Corolla. Technically, this is in fact a Corolla except it is a hatchback variant that Toyota dubbed, the “Matrix”. It was offered in automatic and manual as well as having an all wheel drive option. This one that we have on hand is a 2005 Matrix XR model that is equipped with a bulletproof 1.8L naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engine that produces 130hp and 125lb-ft of torque. The power is sent to the front wheels only via 5 speed manual transmission. Extremely fuel efficient, this vehicle gets 7.1L/100km combined fuel economy from its trusty 1.8L. This is the perfect first car.
Outfitted with Toyota’s Silver Streak Metallic exterior paint and a nice comfy black cloth interior, this is classic combo that you can never go wrong with. Taking a look at the available CarFax we can see that this vehicle only has 242,702kms on the odometer. All things considered, the age of the car, the unbeatable Toyota reliability, the fuel economy, that isn’t that many kms for a car like this.
