Common Vehicle A/C Issues

• Refrigerant Leak - Refrigerant is the key to making your air conditioning system work. However, it is possible for refrigerant to slowly leak out of your vehicle over time. Sometimes these leaks don't indicate any trouble, but that's not always the case. At Lexus of Calgary, we can test your A/C system for any big leaks and then recharge your refrigerant. We carry R134a and R1234yf refrigerant and you can ask about R12 refrigerant for vintage Lexus models, as well.
• A/C Compressor Problems - The A/C compressor turns liquid refrigerant into a gas, pushing it through the A/C hoses to pick up excess heat from the surrounding air. The A/C compressor can become worn down over time, or it may suffer damage from a collision. In either case, you will need to have the compressor replaced.
• A/C Condenser Problems - Once the heated liquid refrigerant enters the condenser, it is turned into a gas. During this process, it sheds its extra heat, which is whisked away to leave only cold air. The condenser can sometimes become clogged and will need to be unblocked. However, just like a compressor, it may need to be replaced after time.
• Blower Fan Problems - The blower fans take the cold air created by the condensed refrigerant and blow it into the cabin. If the fans are damaged or have an electrical issue, we can help at Lexus of Calgary.

• Clogged Cabin Air Filter - The cabin air filter is what keeps bugs, dust, pollen, and other contaminants from entering the cabin of your Lexus and your lungs. As time passes, all of these contaminants will clog the filter. Fortunately, replacing it is a quick and easy service!
